Produced from a blend of light rums distilled in a triple column still and heavy rums distilled in the distillery’s famous double retort pot still, this version enthusiastically fulfils the role of plenipotentiary bestowed upon it. Aged for 12 years in ex-bourbon casks, it has many arguments to support its legitimacy, notably a naturalness that wastes no time with flourishes, limitless generosity and a fierce passion to continually keep pushing forward.
The complex first nose is particularly exotic (mango, banana). Spicy (pepper), once allowed to breathe, it develops notes of vanilla and chocolate. Gradually, citrus fruit (lemon, orange) refreshes the palate. The concentrated attack is smoky and aniseedy. The spicy (nutmeg) and floral (carnation) mid-palate gradually becomes spicy (cayenne pepper). The silky start of the finish is fruity (apple) and candied (apricot). Very mineral (slate) and powdery (cocoa), it is then heady (lilac). The retro-nasal olfaction is a subtle mix of nuts (almond) and sweet spices (cinnamon).

Another Foursquare rum sampled tonight and this one did not disappoint. What can I say, simply delicious with a long satisfying burn at the end. Cannot score this one below 10. 👍

Thank You so much Rhum Attitude for providing a proper rum tasting experience during the 16th month of global lockdown. Our tasting experience continues onwards with Velier Foursquare Plenipotenzario. High end bottle and label design. Bright golden color. Very nice and deep flavor profile to your nose and palate when neat sipped. Quite a kick at the end since it's bottled at 120 Proof. Solid Foursquare rum.

This Plenipotenziario absolutely fits for purpose from my point of view, The color of rum is beautifully golden, darker, such a lighter mahogany. The aroma and taste are very strong and pleasant, sweet with hints of fruit and chocolate. Rum contains 60% alcohol and is without added artificial additives. 😎

Ve vůni je cítit banan a pepř. V chuti je cítit sudova síla a jde cítit citrusy a koreni. Závěr dlouhý a hrejivy.

Already aroma is complex, warm and fruity. Taste is full of bourbon and oak, after develop and you cannidentify the minerals, chocolate and ending in long smoked aftertaste. Similar to Nobiliary, but a bit more complex and smoked. Worth to try 9.5 points.

This is the 6th release of the partnership between Luca Gargano (Velier) and Richard Seale (Foursquare) and this is with ‘full powers’.if you like high on alcohol and lots of wood, then this is the right rum for you! I also get sweet Tobacco and tropical fruits. Great coherence between nose and taste.

12y blend from a pot and column still. Could be very balanced juice, but it's still not very old. I usually prefer the 14y Foursquares.
Smell: Very nice dark and sweet Foursquare smell escapes from the glass. This indicates a very good bottling. Caramel, dried fruits, some Bourbon barrel with vanilla. Hazelnut with a little honey sweetness, heavy aromas of wood varnish and a little orange.
A little more earthy deeper in the glass. Here the typical Forusquare flavors are in a very good balance.
Taste: Sweet start with burnt sugar, dried fruit and orange zest. The sharpness increases and gives the Bourbon barrel with vanilla space. Hazelnut and heavy barrel aromas emerge, wood varnish develops. Orange zest explode and come with tannins, as if you were chewing on dry orange peel. The spiciness tingles on the palate, the finish is sharp with orange zest, burnt sugar, earthy barrel aromas and dried fruits.
Aftertaste: orange zest, dried fruit and burnt sugar, hazelnut
Conclusion: an excellent bottling. Very sweet, but also spicy and with heavy aromas. I would say it came out of the barrel at the right time. Very nice balance and quite complex.
Except that I was not surprised by the flavors, this bottling offers everything.
