Foursquare 2007 Sagacity 12-Year

Im really torn between 9 and 10 score. It is really amazing rum with nice aroma full of oak, grapes and orange. In mouth is full of flavours. Mainly oak, raisins, tropical fruit and grapes. Finish is very long due to 48% and very warm. I would rate it 9,5.

Lets start off with my expectations, they were quite high for this one, as this is my first Foursquare and everyone I spoke to about it was nothing short of raving about it. So there we go: the smell is smooth and with a promising sweetness. Then when you take a sip, it enters your mouth with a noticable thickness. This quickly disperses in your mouth into a thinner substance that tickles all your tastebuds. Its an explosion of taste, greatly balanced; sweetness as well as a dryer taste. You can really taste the different casks it has aged in. The afterburn is nice and present but yet smooth and leaves you with a warm and enjoyable aftertaste. You will be longing for more, but not in a way that you’ll finish the bottle in no time. It’s a rum that demands attention while drinking to fully enjoy the whole complexity of it. Cheers!

Rich and woody with a sweeter smell than taste. Takes a few sips to mellow.

The pinnacle of Barbadian rum (that I’ve had so far). Very clean oak, brown sugar, and “rum” flavors, all of which slowly dissolve into a short but very pleasant finish. I usually like my rums to pack more punch with a wider variety of flavor, but this does what it does so well that it’s hard to deny it.

Smooth, subtle until your done and then lots of flavors. Like everything Foursquare does its great

As is with all Four square -amazing. Don’t pass these up.

Not excellent as some of my top ones but still great. Good to leat it sit down and breath first.
