Let it breath some minutes. The first hit was alcoholic but after a few minutes a beautiful palate of flavours appear.
Aroma: vanilla, backed bananas, bourbon, red wine, later black current and wine zest.
Taste: less sweet than the nose suggests. Spicy, light sweet. Long finish with spices and wine'ish tanins.

Lovely blended rum, mix of pot and column and rims and well aged.
Bargain at under Β£50.

I would give this bottle my highest recommendation. The finish is incredible on this full of fruit and a touch of sweetness. I will need to seek more rums with a madeira finish.

Yet another excellent rum from Foursquare and probably my favourite so far (Dominus, Hereditas, Zinfandel cask blend and Empery are the others I've tried). Β£47 a bottle and the best rum under 50 quid in the world I reckon. Will be getting more in before people push the price up!

Just solid, wonderful wood, grass, vanilla and stonefruit notes off a warm nose that while vaporous of alcohol, still seems easy on the palate given the proof. This is incredibly drinkable, such that I recommend buying two, because when it's gone, you will be begging for more.

Give this 5 minutes to open up after you pour it, your taste buds will thank you.
Great supper, best neat or with a splash of water to calm the heat.
Sweet, nice aftertaste and mouthfeel. Can't wait to share this with my friends.

Released August of last year (2019). Like the 2005 version this one is a blend of 12 year rum that has been aged in ex-bourbon and ex-Madeira casks. Iβm not the biggest fan of Foursquare rum but this one is quite good. Nice blend of flavor and smoothness.

I want to try all the Foursquare rums. This one is very flavorful, has a somewhat fruity nose, and you can taste the bourbon finish. Cask strength at 48%, it has a bit of a burn, but still quite good.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Wow. Another stunner from Foursquare.
Having just had the 48% Doorly's 14yo, I thought that this Sagacity at 48% was a natural one to try. Compared to the 14yo, this has an elegance and subtlety instead of outright oak and fruit power. I prefer the Doorly's 14yo, but that sets the bar high and is of course subjective. But that's not to say that this is anything but a wonderful rum. It has the most wonderful finish, soft, long oak.
What a pair of 48% rums....I look forward to see whether/how the bottles open up and develop.
The Doorly's for power - the Foursquare for elegance.
