Now being sold at Marks and Spencer for around £28 pounds. Could be smoother but otherwise 7 out of 10
Nice color, smell like fruit with hint of vanilla smooth, taste is good, cream and sweet but with hint of fruit, end is nice and smooth. For me is missing something there, more strenght in taste, 7/10
First thing you notice is the classy bottle, with a proper cork. The glass is dimpled, which I read some where is supposed to represent the rolling ocean.
The rum itself is very light in colour, but when swirled in the glass it leaves surprisingly strong legs clinging to the sides.
Fruity, slight vanilla and smoked wood. A mild burn that quickly fades to leave the tongue tingling with flavour.
I feel it’s not for mixing, not enough body I feel.
Great neat or over 1 ice cube, definitely recommend you try it.
Mature Caribbean rum aged further in London.
Enjoy, graham.
Piacevole da gustare, delicato, con note dolci ben bilanciate.
Alcuna particolarità da evidenziare per il Merser & Co Double Barrel.
A nice average taste. I thing overwhelming or poor. Just one of the average ones
I'm not a pro but here's my Review (I used both a Glencairn Glass and Tumbler for this)-
Appearance: The rum in the bottle is a lovely middle level colour (not too dark) but in the glass this becomes alot lighter (to which I'm not used to).
Smell: There's a bit of burn to the smell and all I initially could smell directly from both glasses was copper. I had to angle the glasses to get any sense of the flavours that are present. This was better after having used a block of ice.
Taste: I initially drank this neat, there is a very slight burn but nothing bad, the flavours initially are a bit weak but after a minute they appear and then linger for a while. Whilst the flavours come through there is the warming feeling you get similar to a cognac.
With ice I found that the smell opened up a little but but not enough for my liking, similarly with the taste the flavours weren't as present as I was hoping they would be. I did however find that this went well with FeverTree Madagascar Cola and I aim to experiment further with mixing such as in an Old Fashioned.
Final thoughts: Whilst the flavours nor the smell didn't initially shine through as much as I was hoping, I did enjoy this rum. I would place this more of a 'daily sipper' on the rocks or mixed as opposed to the 'Special occasions' type of rums. This would also be nice on colder evenings due to the warmth that develops.
Light golden in color. Very faint vanilla and ethanol on the nose. Spices hop on straight away, following with nice sweet vanilla notes. Some nuts and dusty wood notes in the palate. The heat and spices linger quite long.
It does not give any memorable feelings, but nothing is wrong with it either.
I would not mix this with coke maybe, but with some fruity mixers it could be great.
bourbonovy, vanilkový rum. Celkový dojem velmi krátký.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Saw this being sold for £30 or so and though 'go on why not'
it starts off with bit of a kick to it to start but settles into a more balanced rum as you drink it. There fruity flavours with a definite hint of chocolate.
Not a bad rum to enjoy in the evening with a friend, when you don't want to bring out the really good stuff!
It won't blow you away but it's just as good as many rums at a higher price point.
