Dry fruits, mulled wine, hint of gingerbread and smoke behind.
Taste is sweet. I can feel raisins, honey with oak and smoke. Very good finish. Smooth as silk.
In flavor field it can compete with much more expensive rums. Really great piece.

Přesně to, co jsem očekával. Výborný rum, díky silnému vlivu sherry, velmi podobný Dos Maderasu 5+5. Rozdílem je nižší sladkost a silnější dřevitost s lehkým zakouřením. Velký posun od základní verze Abuelo 12y, který je vzhledem k podstatně nižší ceně také výborný.

One of the better bottles from Abuelo at a very affordable price. Very tasteful! One of my favorite rums when smoking a cigar.

Everything the regular rum is with a little extra zing from the oak. Definitely adds some character. golden amber pour as can be expected. Honey and overripe mango. Bottle.

I am a fan of abuelo but I expected more from this
Yes it is smoky and you also taste the alcohol but is very watery so a big disappointment because it is abuelo I give a 6 stars this would be lower otherwise

It should be an "improved" version of the classic 12, only this one was aged in two types of barrels. Firstly in Jack Daniel's bourbon barrels and then in oak barrels that have been fired before. The smoky notes are quite noticeable in the rum.
Bottle: Classic Abulelo shape in a brown shade. Wooden cap with cork.
Colour: Dark amber
Nose: Quite strong and sweet. The main ingredients are fruit, vanilla, wood and smoke.
Flavour: Sweet and sour, juicy but mild. Quite strong citrus, tropical fruits, vanilla and some woody notes, when the taste goes slightly to whisky (to dryness).
Finish: Medium-long.
Conclusion: This is a good and not over-sweetened rum from Abuelo. However, I'm not sure if it's better than the classic 12, which I probably liked a bit more.
Overall rating: 7.5 out of 10
