40% ABV Fiji rum, aged for 3 years tropically in Fiji in bourbon barrels and then 1 year continentally in France in cognac barrels. I've always really liked its colourful label.
Bottle: The classic but more bulbous Plantation
Colour: Gold
Nose: Very pleasant, reminiscent of Jamaican rums. Smells of overripe fruit (mainly banana), grilled pineapple, a little estery, dark chocolate and nutmeg.
Mouth: Sweetish with a slight burn on the tongue. Unfortunately, it's a bit more watery and less intense. There is vanilla, chocolate, tropical fruits (banana, pineapple), honey and wood.
Finish: Rather shorter.
Conclusion: This is such a lighter and sweeter type of rum where the aroma is more interesting than the taste. It's not bad, but it didn't impress me in any fundamental way.
Rating: 6.5/10
I give this a meh. Off putting aroma but otherwise palatable. Tastes ok but not top shelf. Inexpensive. Havenβt found the right mixer yet. Nothing touches the 5 year.
Nice color, good taste, fresh fruit and nice finish, good drinking for night. 6/10
Nice drink overall but it's missing a sparkle. Vegetal/onion nose, a bit woody. Then it's a bit flat. Some grilled coconut...
Not to be repetitive but itβs true, this one has the funky smell typical of Plantation rums. Not bad just distinct. It has a pleasant taste that is simple and enjoyable. Nice mixer but for me not top choice for straight sipping. It is a nice rum.
Romhatten. 40%. Lys gul. Duft af kokos, estere, vanilje. Smag af vanilje, lidt skarp, tilsat sukker. Lagret 2-3 Γ₯r pΓ₯ Fiji, og 1 Γ₯r i Frankrig pΓ₯ cognac fade.
Nice light color. Strange aroma with plums i think.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

There is some funkiness on the nose, which I experienced as something like green onion and freshly baked rye bread. Under it are honey and molasses notes. The nose is quite nice for these variety of aromas. The palate is somewhat sweet, creating a rich, round mouthfeel, with nice molasses and caramel notes. These carry onto the finish which presents a slightly peppery bite at the very end. Itβs a very pleasant rum to sip.
