Plantation Isle Fiji

On the nose it smells somewhat off-putting, but the flavor is far more forgiving. There is a young alcohol taste up front but thankfully it gives away quickly to a sweeter more fruity body. Can’t put my finger on the fruit flavor, but it’s somewhat pleasant. Ultimately a better mixer then enjoyed neat. I personally expected something fruitier and more complex.

The nose and the tongue of this is decent, it’s the alcohol burn I don’t care for, even after letting it air for 10-20 minutes. Now where near the the 20th anniversary, which is probably in my top 5 Rums of all I’ve tasted.

I can not come to the taste of these plantation rums.

Fľaša tohto rumu je rovnaká ako má väčšina súrodencov rodiny Plantation, táto má pekne exoticky sfarbenú etiketu. Vôňa je až nečakane intenzívne citrusová, veľmi pripomína Pineapple Stiggin's Fancy. Chuťovo je to už typický Plantation, svieži, stredne sladký (menej, ako som čakal pri spomenutej vôni), avšak s dosť štipľavým dozvukom. V dominantných citrusových tónoch cítiť na pozadí drevo a v malej miere aj určitú surovú zemitosť. Tá "neotesanosť" bude zjavne výsledkom krátkeho zrenia, ktorého časť prebieha v ex-bourbonových sudoch na Fiji, časť vo Francúzsku v dubových sudoch. Celkom príjemné pitie, viem si ho predstaviť aj s ľadom. Naďalej považujem lacnejší Barbados 5Y za lepšiu voľbu. Subjektívny rating niekde medzi 6-7, vzhľadom k cene zostávam pri šestke.

Smak jest lżejszy niż nos. Te kwiaty na etykiecie nie są przesadzone - trunek jest barwny, sprawia wrażenie wielowymiarowego

I wanted to try Jamaican Rum but I couldn't find any at my local supermarket. So bought this instead.
The bottle is nice, besides the cap. I heard people describe funky Jamaican rum as overripe banana and I kinda got that on the nose. I'm kinda missing something on the taste to make it great.

Overall not disappointed and the price is fair, I want more with this flavor profile and would recommend (until I find something better :p).

There’s something good in there but with the dosage and added water it’s very distant. Best to look for an independent bottler if you really want a taste of Fiji rum. I’m sure this will be an okay mixer, if a bit boring.

Dizajn fľaše sa mi veľmi páči. Vôňou pripomína rumy z Jamaiky - estery, ovocie, mierne pichľavá. Chuť ma prekvapila. Pomerne dosť sladká a ovocná. V závere som cítil trochu aj tabak.

A light amber-coloured rum with a sweetish but surprisingly strong taste (whilst being a 40%alc). I wanted to buy a bottle until got to sample a 2cl taster. Would not buy again but would not reduse it if offered to me...A six

Sweet, deep, aromatic - all I can ask from a decent rum. Much recommendable!
