Mount Gay XO Triple Cask

Such a fantastic rum, definitely worth every penny

Fein fruchtig mit etwas süsser Vanille und trotzdem auch würzig mit schöner Holzfass Note.
Genau das was man von gutem Rum erwarten darf.

Compared to most XO runs, this was smoother than anything 15-25 year. Only my 30 yr Zafra was better

Skvělá vůně, kde jde cítit příjemné stáří rumu. Naprosto jemná, nedoslazovaná, ryze chlapská chuť, která se vyváženě rozvine v ústech. Zaslouženě můj referenční rum. Sytá barva, minimalistická lahev. Ve všech aspektech prémiový rum. Mohu pouze doporučit

Ya en nariz el roble es omnipresente con fuerza ( es como la resina del pino un olor potente) y ya cuando se peladea no se notan los 43 grados, es bastante suave, en ningún momento rasca en la garganta y se aprecian un montón de matices dulces, sería pretencioso decir que es caramelo regaliz, vainilla o azaar, me ha gustado pero su precio lo hace bastante inasequible el litro se va a los 60€ o mas, la botella es de 75 cl. Y me salió en 40 y algo €, nunca lo mezclaría y si no encuentro una buena oferta no creo que repita

The reviews of this rum give high expectations. Mount Gay XO Triple Cask is made in Barbados and aged in three casks: whiskey, bourbon and cognac. The nose is very smooth, almost a bit too smooth. It’s a bit flatter than expected. It contains brown sugar, vanilla and light oak aromas. The start of the taste is a bit oily and oaky. Then a warm, brown flavor takes over with caramelized sugar, a touch of tobacco, dark chocolate. And this is one of the few rums that is not overly sweet, which is a big plus. The aftertaste is complex, oaky with a touch of brown sugar. It does not stay very long. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

A nice round and smooth rum with tones of vanilla, oak and nice spices. I would however expect more of an XO.

Dark gold, peppery fruit aroma, toffee, oak, something almost winey

Really dry rum. Not much aroma for me. Taste really had a prevalent whiskey taste to it with hint of banana. Very little sweetness which some may like but just found this to be more of a whiskey than a rum. Glad I tried in in our hotel bar in Brussels than having bought it outright. There are several much better rums for me for half the price.
