Tasted at the greatest home tiki bar in Cincinnati. Pours clear. Packs a punch, but remarkable in it’s smooth palate. Grassy and honeysuckle nectar. Delicious.

Habitation Velier Herr Savanna White- Bubble gum(!) mint, citrus starburst, seawater, camphor if you remember that. Sounds like a train wreck, but it's actually quite refreshing. Unique and eye-popping.

Habitation Velier's Savanna HERR is one of the most intense, flavorful, and polarizing rums we have ever tasted! It's made from molasses using a pot still and is bottled unaged at 122 proof (61,1% ABV). On the nose there are strong notes of sweet tropical fruit and a little Jamaican style funk. Tasting this rum is quite the adventure! Those fruity aromas translate into a ripe fruit medley, reminiscent of a fruit salad with ripe bananas, pineapple, and berries or even a fruit-flavored bubble gum,. Then out of nowhere comes a punch of meaty smokiness. More fruits linger on the finish and subsequent sips present even more flavors, each slightly different than the previous ones. It is amazing that all of this flavor was achieved through fermentation and distillation alone, with no barrel aging or additives.

Same one as the Herr 57 with an extra kick of alcohol (and esters?) Doesn't make such a big difference, except for the very nerdy HV packaging, all for the still. And details. Love this collection, and Savanna shines in the middle of Hampden LROK and Long Pond STC(love)E.

This is a crazy rum, one of the most bizarre and immediately recognizable. You can't get this natural 'chemical red berry' smell, out of your head.

Now this is definetively something out of any scheme or classifications
The world of rums in in fact not classified completely yet...
This is pure expression of a unique terroir , sure on a blind taste you won't miss out
Offered at fair price, very distinguishable, pungent, fruity and persistently warm finish.
It can be somehow overwhelming, not a rum you can enjoy everyday (in my mouth I'd bet no more then twice a year because it is soooo particular, either neat or diluted with drops of water.
Haven't tasted it yet on mixology...but will be again making a strong and unmistakable difference.

This is by far the most intensely fruity rum I've ever tasted. It reminds me of DOK if DOK was stripped of its rotting meat funk and instead pure fruity flavors. Its so intense it lingers for hours. Delicious and unique
