Bought this one in Spain, while I was driving down there.
The Reserve du Comte Arthur Dillon exists, after what I have understood, in two different ageings. They arenβt produced anymore but can still be found in some webshops. One is aged for at least 4 years and this one is aged for at least 8 years. The easiest way to keep them apart is to check the label when buying them. On the 4yo is the logotype on the label red and on the 8yo is the logotype on the label brown.
This one, the 8yo has an nuanced scent from the barrel and you can recognize dried fruit, herbs, vanilla and arrack. Itβs also possible to recognize some sweetness and smokiness.
Itβs a truly remarkable VSOP with its unusual long ageing for a VSOP.
