Black Mask Original Spiced

A saw some mini bottle of this at Total Wines & More for $1.49, so I thought I'd give it a try (Total Wines & More sells the regular sized bottles of this for only $11.99).

This is a surprisingly good rum for the money! I liked this a LOT more than I expected. Though it tastes inexpensive and has a lot of added flavors, they did a really good job with the flavoring.

Smells and tastes of vanilla, cinnamon, chai, ginger, and nutmeg. I really like it! I rated this much higher than many more expensive rums.

Again, it doesn't taste expensive, but it tastes great for the money. Well done Black Mask! :-)

I love this rum. Super hard to find but when you do it's cheap and delicious. The original flavor has hints if vanilla in it, making your typical Rum & Coke closer to a Rum & Vanilla Coke and pairs well with Diet Coke also. Add half a lime to really bring it out!

My mixing go to is:
1.5oz Black Mask original
1/2 fresh squeezed lime
12oz Coke or Diet Coke

The only thing masked by this is the rum and the taste......oh and the flavor. This stuff is BAD. Very harsh. I wouldn't even mix it. Spiced rums are a dime a dozen these days. There are MANY less expensive varieties that are FAR superior to this. I'll pass.
