A nice rum from one of the few American craft distillers that uses pot stills. It was worth taking a flyer on mixing in cocktails to add a little funk. That being said, there are better rums and better prices
Great rum if you drink it room temperature. I normally chill my rum, but found this is much better warm.
Decided to give a local, small independent distillery a shot. More known for their whiskey, Old Nick Williams is a western NC distillery. This gold rum is unpleasant on the nose but surprisingly unfolds into a citrusy and floral combination. Very mild with little body. A solid 5.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

In the bottle purchased at an ABC shop in Wilmington NC on 7/29/23. This is properly marketed as the Jamerican Aged Rum. At $29 a bottle, not an unfair price as this shows promise for an American Craft Distiller. Someone entered this wrong on RumRatings (I remember my first rum too, buddy) saying that it was made in the UAE, but it is actually distilled in Lewisville, NC. Rich darker gold in color- a classic look for the style. Aroma is a mild funk not unlike a slightly molded shower shoe. I'd best describe it as a muted Smith and Cross. If you're looking for hogo, then you might be disappointed as this is only mildly nutty with some surprising barrel woodiness being the dominate flavor. But Jeez, it's being made in Lewisville, NC!!! For that it gets big props from this (as of this posting) Top Ten RumRatings Reviewer.
