Expensive, but worth it. A friend in TCI recommended this and I'm glad I brought one back with me. Now, I wish I had the rest of the collection.
Definitely one to buy for your collection with the neat, glass-blown barrel at the bottom. But the rum inside is also worthy of making it to the top shelf of your liquor cabinet even without that. Probably 8.5 instead of an 8.
Very nice rum with a nice bottle but.... please give me minimum of a fifth to drink. (not a full fifth bottle) that aside, very good sipping rum, one of Appleton's best rum. I love the way Appleton keeps bringing out great new rums.
Only had an ounce of this once, but I can say it is nice and smooth with a nice aftertaste.

Buy for the bottle, stay for the flavor. 9 out of 10
Obviously a display rum you keep on the bar for conversation. It's gorgeous. I found mine on one visit (and only one visit) to Grand Cayman. I nearly passed them up, imagining the beautiful bottles to just be a marketing ploy. But the $90 CI (maybe $110 US) proved well worth it for the quality inside. Smooth, but wakes up the whole tongue. Brown sugar primarily, crisp coffee-like (slightly bitter) long finish. Wish this wasn't so rare or I'd feel better about drinking it.
