For we who like a sweet rum, Don Papa is superbly pleasing, a delicious concoction befitting the wonderful Filipina & Filipino people. Aged 7 years in its basic version, Don Papa combines aspects wonderfully: Sweetness, vanilla, a touch of fruit flavours, & a pleasing good-character 'burn & bite' as one would wish from a top-quality rum. My suggestion is very little ice, perhaps only a chilled glass, so that one doesn't alter the tasty balance of Don Papa straight. Will have too much vanilla & sweetness for some - as if Captain Morgan with more bite - but Don Papa is a great sipper for some of the rest of us.

Don Papa rum is named after great late 1800s - early 1900s Filipino revolutionary Dionisio 'Papa Isio' Magbuelas, a 'babaylan' able to link to ancestral spirits; Don Papa was a rebel against both Spanish & Yank American occupiers. The wonderful label & canister of Don Papa, quite fit this superb rum from Negros island, Philippines, mellowed 7 years in oak near volcanic Mount Kanlaon by the Bleeding Heart Rum Co.

Too sweet nose, extreme taste of orange, sweet citrus taste. Different to lot of rums, the bottle is a masterpiece!

There ist som funny smell to start with - dark and bitter. Really like some medecin. It tastes like some mixture of oak and rubber. The best thing about this is the design of the paper on the bottle. Sorry.

Granted this is a little bit of a fun bottle... It tastes synthetich somewhat like bubble gum. It is however taking the piss of all that I love about rum. This mass produced bottle has so much fake sweetening from sugar and vanilla that is can hardly go under the category rum?

Sweet, spiced rum with distinct flavor of vanilla and lime. I recomended for ladies.

The scent is sweet and artificial, color is unnatural and it tastes primarily sweet with a surprisingly spicy aftertaste.

Something you can use to top your waffles or ice cream. It's over the top, even for most cocktails.

Rum?
Siamo sicuri?
