Don Papa Small Batch Rum is produced by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company on the southern island of Negros in the Philippines. The rum is distilled from molasses, then aged for over 7 years in American oak barrels, and lastly charcoal filtered.
The name Don Papa rum was inspired by Papa Isio, a leader of the Philippine revolution against the Spanish who led his island to independence before joining the main revolutionary movement.

Tasted at Hot Joy on 2/21/23. Pours garnet amber. Obnoxious sherry mixed with cotton candy aroma. This is pretty chemical. Orange flavored tootsie rolls from the 1970s. Horrid. Simply horrid.

Great flavours of bubblegum and cola cubes. Very smooth and sweet.

One of the best rum, in my opinion, great taste and fresh smell, good color, ratio price/taste is great and 7/10 for me

The original Don Papa recipe, which was a bit sweeter even, started my journey in rum tasting. Sweet and vanilla and slightly creamy. Great to start your rum
Journey. Not for the purists ;-). I still occasionally enjoy it in a mix nowadays.
