This rum has a vanille overkill in the nose. In the mouth, you just dont know what to do with it. I don't know what they put in this liquor, but for me, its just a chemical syrup... Hate it or love it!

However I love the design of the bottle. Very beautiful. I keep it in my collection just for that. And to get rid of unwanted guests... hehe...

when they say it is sickeningly sweet - believ them. like drinking a rum inspire pixie stick. Had one 2 oz glass and ended up cutting it with El dorado just to get through it. Left me with the feeling of a major sugar rush in the end. terrible. might be ok in a cocktail without other sugar/syrup added. perhaps even egg nog.

Na druhou stranu najde své příznivce, kteří tyto vůně milují - především ženy a proto mu dávám o jednu hvězdičku více než by si zasloužil

Nice bottle, that's the only thing positive about this.
Taste like syrup + ethanol, added sugar, added flavour, everything is fake with don papa.
That's just marketing, not an aged rum, not even a rum...

I was recently in the Philippines on a family vacation and heard of a newer rum called Don Papa. No formal aged statement. Nice packaging held in a metal sleeve that allowed me to safely carry a bottle home in check-in luggage to Canada.
I did not taste this before buying and what a mistake.
What is this I thought upon first sip? I have been a rum drinker for many years and can hardly describe this as rum. Syrupy sweet, over the top vanilla, and then more vanilla, oh and did I mention vanilla? Candied fruit straight out of a jar. I am very disappointed and after one glass felt like dumping the whole bottle down the drain. I won't though as I will probably give to someone who likes Fruitopia type drinks but will pass on with expressed warnings.

Beautiful packaging. New country on the rum map but clearly not up to the rest of world rum production. Sweet caramel texture but I doubt it was really aged knowing well Philippines strategies to cheat and make immediate profit. Looks like a spiced rum rather than aged rum with lot of glycerine in it :(

Quite terrible ! Nice rum to discover but not for rum lovers. Keep the empty bottle though ...

This stuff should be used to mechanics to wash their hands , and for removing grease from car engines. It is disgusting. How this can be classified as rum is beyond belief. Not fit for consumption!!!!!
