Don Papa Small Batch Rum is produced by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company on the southern island of Negros in the Philippines. The rum is distilled from molasses, then aged for over 7 years in American oak barrels, and lastly charcoal filtered.
The name Don Papa rum was inspired by Papa Isio, a leader of the Philippine revolution against the Spanish who led his island to independence before joining the main revolutionary movement.

Denne rom er næsten som den sodavand. Alt for sød til min smag. Vil gå så langt som at kalde den for en kvinde rom. Den for to flasker, kun pga jeg kan lide flasken og designet på markatten

Not for all in my opinion. For my taste buds this rum is too much vanilla and taste has somehow artificial flavor.
I invite my three friends to rum Tasting (Botucal-Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, Abuelo Aňejo 12 YO, Plantation 20th Anniversary XO, Pyrat X.O. Reserve and Don Papa) and two of them said that is nothing special and one said that is fantastic and even the best from all this five ... :-o

La package, la bouteille, et même le prix rappellent étrangement le Diplomatico Reserva. Mais le ramage ne se rapporte pas au plumage, la comparaison s'arrête là. Celui-ci est TRES sucré, chargé en aromes artificiels, agrumes, fruits confits, girofle. Le tout avec excès, sans harmonie. Cette cacophonie gustative rappelle davantage le sirop pour la toux que le spiritueux. Ecœurant et sans intérêt gustatif.

Found it artificial and you can taste the added sweeteners. The one thing I could not taste was rum.

Picked one up mostly for the nice label and the way the bottle looks.
Since i'm a beginner in sipping rum's I thought this would be a nice start.
But it wasn't...
Maybe I need to sip more other rum's and develope my tastebuds a bit more to get in to this one.
(edit) After tasting severall other rum's I'm beginning to like this one a bit more.I especially like the fruity taste of this rum)

Peu de longueur en bouche, mais quels aromes!!!
Du coup ce n'est pas un rhum d'exception, mais un rhum festif, qu'il faut prendre en tant que tel.

Surprising combination of very strong vanilla´s aroma and taste with spicy strong impacts. Inspiring unconventional and much better (not)rum than e.g.Pyrat XO
Not like the better aged rums: rather sweet, smooth and with a taste of orange. Not a strong finish, fades away pretty quickly. Easy consumable

un rhum bien trop sucré pour ma part
Ses notes d'orange bonbon sont bien trop présentes voire écœurantes

The Note of Vanille is to strong. After drinking I smell this even after 5-10 minutes in my nose.
