Philippines | Aged | 40% ABV
Don Papa Small Batch Rum is produced by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company on the southern island of Negros in the Philippines. The rum is distilled from molasses, then aged for over 7 years in American oak barrels, and lastly charcoal filtered.
The name Don Papa rum was inspired by Papa Isio, a leader of the Philippine revolution against the Spanish who led his island to independence before joining the main revolutionary movement.

Very smooth and sweet all-round rum. Ideal for mixing but also for on the rocks.
when they say it is sickeningly sweet - believ them. like drinking a rum inspire pixie stick. Had one 2 oz glass and ended up cutting it with El dorado just to get through it. Left me with the feeling of a major sugar rush in the end. terrible. might be ok in a cocktail without other sugar/syrup added. perhaps even egg nog.
Flavoured. Intresting. Not bad but i dont know i like it or not
Good tasting, Easy to appeal to everybody, actually in my opinion One of the most trendy rum for everybody
I love it. I had this with a cigar some months ago. Great complexity, pleanty of taste, it has a uniqueness of its own.
This is a great rum-based liqueur, Not really a Rum. If you want something sweet and mild and heavy in Vanilla, this is a good choice. Really shines in some Cocktails (Not Cuba libre or similarly composed Drinks, but rather Drinks that tend to be more on the sour side. Make Sure to Cut down on syrip wegen using this Drink!).
As a stand-alone Rum, Don Papa is good for beginners that are unfamiliar with Rum and people that Like spiced Rums, but is a Bit pricey for the flavour provided of you are looking for a 'proper' aged Rum (which to me is more than Made Up by the mixability).

Smells a lot like a vanilla and lemonade ice cream float.
"For all its sweet sugariness, its really very drying and bitter on the palate once it all settles down."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

It only taste like oak and sugar. I like it with coke since it left a different after taste.
