I was looking at the Kill Devil rums and noticed that the brand has an incorrect country of origin and description. Is it possible to correct this information?
Plantation's Original Dark has been through a few variations as the blend has changed from different regions. Even though it is listed as being multi region there are still a few different listings here on RumRating.
On the other hand Pyrat rum started out from Anguilla. When it was bought by Patron it was a blend from several different Caribbean islands. Now that it's owned by Bacardi it's from several regions but predominantly Guyana. While the origins have changed, it has a single listing here on RumRatings.
It's now fixed and it's now written that it's from United States.
It's also re-named Kill Devil (Outer Banks) to distinct it from Kill Devil (Hunter Liang).
I was wondering about Pyrat still being listed as Anguilla. Since it was bought by Patron, the blend has predominantely been from Guyana (Demerara).
If we're talking about country of ownership, and not the source of the rum, isn't it Puerto Rico now that Bacardi owns Patron?
Decided rule is that so called Independent Bottlers (IB) bottling rum from different countries shall be announced as "Multiple" instead of a country. For example shouldn't "Velier" be announced Italy.
After what I can see should "Pyrat" also be announced like that.
I can't fix that, but I bring it up in my reports to Andy every 3-months.
In my last report I listed around 100 of the biggest IB's, but there is of course many more.
Here's another suggestion: I think that "Plantation Gran Anejo Guatemala" and "Plantation Gran Anejo Guatemala & Belize" should be merged as this just the same Rum (See pictures in both).
You may be right, that it's the same content with different labels.
But after what I can see there's written "Guatemala" on one of them and "Guatemala & Belize" on the other one.
Also googled them and found both with different prices.
Are you sure?
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
