Some time back I purchased and thoroughly enjoyed Kirk and Sweeney's 23 year. Absolutely loved every sip. Unfortunately I missed the boat on the company abandoning specific years and going to the reserva naming, and I am fresh out of the 23 now. RIP.
I need something smooth and sippable in my life again. Any suggestions highly appreciated.
you have the kirk and sweeney gran reserva or gran reserva superior, they are replacement for 18 and 23
Based on this website, any of the Reservas are poor alternatives to the former, aged bottles.
i didn t like even the old 18 and 23 ... those are all with too much sugar added for my taste ...
That's fair that you didn't like it; however, that doesn't help answer the question at all.
Try Selvarey owners reserve.
@Tony love your style and wish we could hang out. @BeaconSlash asks for a Toyota Camry alternative and you offer up a Lamborghini Diablo :)
kirk sweeny being $50 and selva reserve being $150 I'd offer up zafra 30 for everyone being $200 and one of the best premium rums out there.
but to answer the question, brugal 1888 would be similar in price/origen try also Botran 18 (I dislike all of these as well as kirk and sweeny and pretty much dont like any dominican rum except diplomatico white, but hope that helps)
DearAlas. I have to agree with you. My journey has been centered on tasting higher rated rums in general as at my age life's too short. And yes. zafra master 30 and Centario Real and 30, are among myfavorites. I tasted several Kirk and Sweeney and moved on. Cheers to all on their journey.
Are you sure?
