I love that so many reviews from this site come from all over the place. But this may be more directed towards the U.S. reviewers. I am looking to try some really good American made rums that seem to be readily available. Price is not much of a consideration. The cavaet is, that I prefer Bajan rums or semi-sweet rums - nothing with tons of added sugar or sweetness.  So please no sugar bombs.

Foursquare makes some of the best bajan style rum. As far as American made rum goes, I think Bayou rum is probably one of best. However, in my opinion, comparatively rum made in America isn't as good as other countries.

Bajan style rums:

Mount Gay XO

Foursquare Criterion, Empery, Sovereignty,

American made rum:

Cane Run, Sweet Crude (great mixers)

Bayou Special Reserve Single Barrel(decent sipper)

Richland rums( it's decent  and worth a try)

rum catching up in USA though more independent bottles are coming out

Holmes cay are ment to be very good but expensive not reached UK stores yet...  think that the ...only big difference between EU and USA is loads off independent rums in UK and EU but it will change in time as rum gets more popular in USA

a lot off people in UK are same they like suger bombs such as bumbu and Morgan's but gin is most popular drink in UK I think it's only been last few years where rum has really taken off in in UK with festivals and local independent bottles

I never had bumba by the way but I know it's a suger bomb

Richland Rum from Georgia is a unique product. An Agricole type rum single estate single barrel from sugar cane grown on their own farm only. It's hard to find but if you're ever close it's worth a try and a tour. No additives at all!

Thomas Tew is one of my favorite U.S. rums  They're out of Newport, R.I and some TW stores stock it at under $50. Papas Pilar is another one but expect to pay double for their best and they use rum from a Louisiana distillery seeing it's a start up based in Key West. I posted this link last month. Enjoy, there quite a few out there. https://www.robsrum.com/americanrum/

Thank you everyone that has responded. I am going to seach out the Bayou and Thomas Tew rums. The Richland Rum is probably not for me as it is an Agricole and for some reason I just cannot develop a taste for it.
