Hello Les,   I am sure they know what they can get away with in setting their prices.  Maybe their facilites in Barbados can only produce so much rum per year and they just prefer to be seen as a smaller exclusive distiller offering only top tier rums. Given the reviews of their rums they must do a good job because the ratings are really good for all their oferrings.  Long story short, they are in business to make money and as much of it as they can. If they are getting away with their prices and their sales going the way they like why would they charge less? I get your questioning though. Many things are ridiculously over-priced in this world but it is up to the individual to determine what they consider to be too expensive.

Les after visiting their distillery and touring the plantation, I can testify the current owner spent a fortune preserving one of the few remaining Great House Plantations. Think of this more like a heritage theme park. The rums are just part of the operation to keep the estate going, I can't honestly say they are anywhere worth the price, as I paid a hefty price to bring back a bottle of 18 year old as a souvenir. They were out of the 12 year that I wanted. Also their extra aged rums are actually produced by Foursquare along with Clifton Hall Great House and Huntes Gardens. Lovely island lots of heritage and comradery amounts the current Great House owners.
