https://www.franzose.de/en/News/PaName-OSS-One-Stop-Shop-EU-Umsatzsteuerreform-im-Online-Handel-Digi...There is a new regulation for the EU, shipping from outside and within the EU has been made more difficult.I think we can expect higher costs and a lower supply, which will lead to rising prices.

It's only a change on the difference of VAT between two countries, so the modifications of prices within the EU will be slight. In the majority of EU countries VAT is similar so there will only be differences Al level of several %. If I understand correctly, the prices would drop in countries with lower VAT.I don't know about other countries but in Poland it is impossible for a private collectors to purchase alcohol from outside the EU. It can only be done by certain companies with i alcohol mporter rights.

The bureaucracy is the problem for smaler shops. Because of this, some shops no longer ship. The prices will rise because the supply becomes smaller. We have already seen that with Brexit. Now it goes on with taxation. Ebay has already changed the conditions, I can no longer order from FR and IT.

I'm shocked that eBay.it and .fr doesn't ship. It was one of my first choices. Does this change apply also to Poland? Seems like at the moment we are limited only to catawiki and rumauctioneer. Do you have any experience with buying or selling at whiskymarket.de?

Catawiki and Rumauctioneer still deliver. No experience with Whiskymarket, their prices are too high for me.

This discussion is really disgusting!!! Anyone who knows anything at all about investing knows that one NEVER needs to hold onto any physical thing for any length of time unless it is for very rare art! One simply studies Technical Analysis for the stock market by using MACD and RSI. One holds onto nothing physical with these very short term investments. Now if one wants to mentally masturbate over their "rum investments" for a few years, I truly feel sorry for them. Get a life, dudes!!! By the way, the most expensive rum that I ever bought was my one and only bottle of Caroni 17 Year from 2000 for $190. I only paid that much because it was my only chance of finally tasting a Karen-E. It started out with my rating of 8, but slowly dropped down to a high 7 over 40 days. In other words, I will never buy another Caroni even if I can find one, and I now realize why they went out of business....because the wise rum drinkers in Trinidad knew better!!!! Duh!! Fools and their money always part!

We are happy about your wisdom Paul. But it has nothing to do with this topic. We buy rum within the EU and there is a problem with shipping now. You bought a Caroni and you don't like it. Ok, not a problem, maybe Caroni is not for you. I have five opened bottles of Caroni and I like them.

vomi1011: You missed my whole point as usual. This thread is all about those in the EU being pissed off with the new rules that affects their "investments". I simply delved further into it.

You see it from an investors point but it's about allocation of all products. Because the allocation of products in US is that bad you have to drive 400 miles for a new bottle of rum. I've been able to order a bottle from France or Italy. But now some shops in Italy won't deliver to my address and this is a problem.

Paul: I tried investing on crypto market but despite doing some research and learning, I apparently suck and lost some 40%. I didn't give up but I don't feel ready to invest more at the moment. Simultaneously I bought several bottles of rum half year ago and they are worth twice as much now. The thing is that I have knowledge and passion in rum, I read news and blogs and I talk to you guys, here. I think it's a good idea to invest in things that you are familiar with and have some knowledge about. I know it is based on fundamental analysis bit let's face the technical facts: the prices of rum are rising: you should call it a trend.
