As a follow up to my previous topic it would be nice to see which highest ABV you have when it comes to white Overproof’s and how you rate them?I suppose that molasses based rum with real high ABV ain’t for neat drinking, but I haven’t tasted my two strongest yet. When I taste them I will start neat, but I hardly believe that I will like them that way. Anyway they’re great to have in a rum bar cause they always attract attention and is a subject for discussions. These are the strongest I have right now:1) Sunset Very Strong Rum, 84,5%, Not rated yet.2) Marienburg 81, 81%, Not rated yet.3) Rivers Antoine Royal Grenadian Rum, 69%, Rated 9.4) Cavalier Puncheon, 65%, Not rated yet.5) Shared by the 3 big Jamaican white Overproof’s all at 63%.Hampden Rum Fire, Rated 8+.Wray & Nephew White Overproof, Rated 7+.Rum-Bar White Overproof, Rated 7.

Hello guys! Ain’t it no one out there that have a Marienburg 90, a Rivers Antoine 75, a John Crow Batty or some of them listed by me in my initial post. I’m really curious to hear what you think about these exceptional high ABV white rums. I mean that it’s also interesting to hear if you just think that this type of rum are completely uninteresting and not worth to spend any money on.

I think they are good for mixing cocktails. I have tried some white rums. Savanna HERR 57% or Revolte at 60%. They weren't bad but couldn't compete against the aged rums. I don't mix cocktails or drink other beverages. Therefore I don't have experience with that. But I would prefer aged rums, even when they are young like Smith&Cross or SBS WPE 2019. I'lll try some new white rums soon, my opinion may change. Nothing is more constant than the change.

vomi, Your last sentence couldn’t be more correct. I’m pretty sure that you will like those on my list that I have rated, those four can definitely be drunk neat. The other three I believe just should be used as mixers, but I don’t know yet.

Some white rum are gone but I have two survival here. L'esprit Jamaica 85.6% and Longueteau Genesis 72.25%. So molasses vs cane juice

Hi Stefan, L'esprit is similar to Haitian Clairin Casimir or maybe Providence First Drops so I don't feel the High Ester notes like Jamaican WP Forsyths White or Long Pond STCE white. I like it ,is very floreal and you can take a mini sip. I think it works fine in a T-Punch with big dose of ice. Longueteau is very agricol rum. It has a heavy agricol taste. Not simple to sip. Sure it works fine for an amazing Mojito.

Yes, I think are two good rum to have in your collection. But if you want to be surprised by High Ester something different from Jamaican, I suggest to try Savanna Herr white rum and Mhoba Rum Pot Stilled High Ester. In this moment I waiting for Rivers Antoine Royal Grenadian Rum, I have a lot of expectations for it. I see is in your list, what you think about?

Vomi, Heard some says so, it’s a Hampden but I’m not sure. Some says the the Rum Fire was for the US market and the Velvet for the European market, but now is the Rum Fire for sale in Europe. I will soon order the Velvet to check it out myself.

It tastes of lime, quince and backed apple. It has similarities with Nanny of the Maroons. Quite smooth for 63%.
