Here comes the third and last step about how our rum is packaged, without having anything to do with the content. Never buy a bottle because of a fancy box, but isn’t it great to find something real good in a in a good looking box. It will be a Jewel in your rum bar just as a good looking bottle or label. That’s at least what I thinks when building up my private rum bar.
Unfortunately I believe that fancy boxes affects the price more than nice looking labels or bottles, except for crystal bottles. My choices is: The simple wooden box here represented by Depaz Grande Reserve XO (old bottle). The large wooden box with the special stand inside that contains Legendario 15yo. Finally, the Pull-Out box here represented by my most fancy one containing the Havana Club Union.
So as I mentioned, I like solid wardrobe-like boxes like the old Diplomatico Ambassador edition. I also like the boxes of Appleton Joy and Havana Club Maximo.
I'm really curious what feature of rums is next on your list Stefan :)
Kudzey,
I also like the old Diplomatico Ambassador “Wardrobe box”, but unfortunately I doesn’t own one. Having just the newer “Pull-out box”.
I also like the “Open-up boxes” used by Appleton Joy and English Harbour 1981.
The Maximo looks of course great, but I can’t see myself buying it within the foreseeable future.
Yeah, no idea if I will ever even try HC Maximo. Reviews told me I would probably like it (but probably not love) but the price is just extremely high.

Bravo Stefan,
great topic again.
My favourites:
The "La Maison Du Rhum" bottlings, packed with wooden slats.
The wooden and leather coated Malteco shrine.
The original mid '90 tin box from my first Jamaica rum love.
I like boxes with photos. Savanna Wild Island Edition is great and I like also the Caroni employee releases. Plantation Extreme releases are also great, when you can complete a picture from four boxes.
Valinch & Mallet have released the spirit of the art series.
Nice paintings that looks like an artwork in a frame.
I don't have them, but I like how they look.
