Does anyone know of a white rum that is similar to Naked Turtle? It was my go to mixing rum and has been discontinued and I bought everything I could find in my area.

Rum Haven is very similar and made in Canada, since both are made with coconut water. It is available in lots of stores in the USA. Or you could just pick out your absolute favorite white rum and mix it with premium coconut water (which contains coconut bits). This is a sad day for the sea turtles, who benefited from the sales of this rum.

Kevin:

Coconut is the very essence of the tropics! Sitting on one of those gorgeous beaches and drinking rum with coconut flavors is the ultimate.  Just add some really good island music! Don't worry...about a thing...!

For those who hate sugar, the drink mentioned above is the perfect coconut rum drink.  I have even separated Coconut Rums from Flavored Rums in my classifications because there are so many with coconut. I have been hell bent on finding the perfect coconut rum for the past five years. And I found them, so here are my top three by a long shot!

Brinley Gold Shipwreck Coconut (St Kitts)

Oak & Palm Coconut (Florida)

Clement Mahina Coco (Martinique)

Just to clarify, Naked Turtle was a Non-aged, white rum. It wasn't a coconut rum.

I tried it on ice as a free pour from one of my favorite bartenders. I remember a slight vanilla taste but surprisingly smooth on the rocks. Not a big white rum drinker, but remember it as a smooth summertime sipper.

From what I understand they take the cast strength rum and bring it down to 40 proof with coconut water instead of regular water.
