Rum and Christmas Cake

Anyone here like Christmas cake made with Rum? Each year my daughter bakes a Christmas cake for me as my present. She soaks the fruit in a rum (that I provide) for 2 weeks and then the grandkids stir in the ingredients. The cake is then baked in my mother's depression era tin pans and then rum is added to it over the next month as it ages in another tin. This year it turned out to the best cake yet. This year's rum was Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva.

The original recipe for Tiramisu dessert uses rum instead of Amaretto. It's way less sweet that way, i strongly recommend.
