I would love to hear any rums which you find to really punch above their weight class--rums like Naked Turtle, which apparently tastes much better than $13. It can be of any price class or style. (ie. a $30 rum which is on par with a middle-of-the-road $50-60 rum or more, or a $65 rum which can shoot it out with anything). A good example of a different spirit like this is Wild Turkey 101, a $20 bourbon which I definitely enjoy as much as more expensive bourbons. Rums like these are, by nature, hard to find and often though to get, but I'd really love to hear your stories or recommendations!

I like the Ron Barcelo Imperial, bought it for 23$. Good blend of at least 10 year old rums from Dominican Republic. I think I would pay double the price.

I have finally perfected my best buy recommendations after almost 300 rums reviewed. Basically, taste counts twice as much as price and having all of my reviewed rums ranked is extremely important. My top two best buys are a white one and a dark one: Cana Brava 3 Year and Blackwell's Reserve. Both are less than $22 US. However, both are hard to find unless you live near a Total Wine store. One will soon be opening near where I live!!!
