I smell a shill. 2 ratings both Pirate's Grog both 10s. Now this post.

Scott T, I totally agree with you! Us regular reviewers are too smart to fall for this kind of crap. I am now the third one to catch onto this. Pirate's Grog is not even made in Roatan Honduras, but merely bottled there from rums coming from all over the Caribbean. Heck, anyone can do that! Tourists will fall for anything.

Yup. Most people rate Pirates Grog a 6 (myself) or a 7, but 4 of the 5 '10' ratings are from people who only rated Pirate's Grog. Seems like a fake rating to me.

Falcon81Wolvrn03: You were the first one to notice these bogus reviews and this was almost a year ago! The old standby also holds on the Number 13 - don't be fooled by the fancy bottle or high price. I had not even looked at reviews for Pirate's Grog up until now because I have never seen any for sale between Texas and Florida. If I see a rum for sale that I have not yet tried, I always go home and research it here first. If it is too far from home, I may take a chance on it for the right price or if memories of reviews here gave it good marks. Unfortunately, this is not the only rum to have bogus reviews rated as a 10. Other cases have also become obvious. If those shills really want to push their rum, then they should stick with a rating of a 7. Too many 10 ratings from reviewers who only have a handful of reviews is a dead give away. Em and her team are now exposed.

Agree - just removed those ratings. Please flag any you see in the rating and I'll remove if it looks fishy.

Here's another: Tall Tale Spirits Noxx & Dunn 2-4-5 got five 10's in a row; four 10's on the same date and four 10's from people with only one rating.

The absolutely best rum I had so far is Velier Very Old Royal Navy Rum, there is simply nothing that can touch the brilliance of that bland. As everyday drinking rum - Appleton 12y, long time favorite.
