I empty Bottles!!??

Hi Joe, there a lot of Things you can do with these nice bottles. It depends on how good the tools in your hands are. The simplest you can do, use it as a candlestick. Use it as a lamp socket, cut it for a glass, for a wall inlet, melt it for a plate. Or build a pillar to the sky. :-)

Certain kinds of bottles can be used to store 24 ounces each with complex Tiki drinks. After one gets a couple of Zombies in them, who on earth would want to make another one from scratch with 7 ingredients? Not many. My four empty bottles are now all full and waiting in my fridge with brand new drinks. Three of them have Leblon Light Cachaca with three different juices and one has Ruby Red grapefruit juice as a 2 to 1 ratio to kill the taste of another very bad rum that I wound up with (Old New Orleans 1718 Tricentennial Blend). That last one is in an empty bottle of Bumbu and the other three are in bottles that formerly held Pyrat XO, Papa's Pilar Dark, and Plantation Barbados 5 year. You get the picture. The most ideal empty bottles are short and fat with most of them having a real cork. That unique canteen cork from Papa's Pilar also works great. The worst bottles for storing complex drinks is anything by Kirk & Sweeney or Don Q Gran Anejo. That empty Pyrat XO would also be great to bring along a whole bottle of boat drinks since it is least likely to tip over. I had an empty bottle of Bacardi 8 with a cork, but did not want to look at their bat logo every time I opened it. Yes, I am mainly a neat sipper, but as you can see from my empties, these are rums that I just could not wait to get out of my sight, so they got swilled down pretty quickly with whatever made them passable for taste. Only one rum was so hopeless that I gave the whole bottle away, which was Brugal Anejo, my only 1 star rating.

If I have some unique rhum bottles I pour some dark tea on it. And keep them on the top on the shelf. Like Diplomatico Ambassador bottle it has gold plated letters and cork. It's just shame to recycle that kind of bottle.
