I got ahold of a bottle of this while on vacation. Love the intense smoky Demeraran taste and it has very little sweetness, unlike the El Dorado 12 and 15 yr which were my favorites a few years ago until I found out how much added sugar they have. Based on the mouthfeel and flavor, I don't expect much if any added sugar. I was wondering if anyone had tested or seen results for sugar content? It is not on Capn Jimbo's list, seemingly because due to their long history he refuses to do anything on his site which might promote anything put out by Ed Hamilton.

I would not presume that Ed Hamilton would lie, as he is a rather well known character in the rum world, and it would be foolish to tarnish one's name which has become a brand by such a stupid lie (especially when anyone can open the bottle and test the rum). However - sometimes, the bottler can state that he added no sugar and it may be true, but the rum may be sourced from producers that traditionally sweeten their rums, and Demerara rums are traditionally sweetened. So it may be that Mr. Hamilton sourced already sweetened rum, added nothing as he states on the label, blended and bottled it. It certainly happened in case of Pusser's rum - they also proclaim they do not sweeten it, yet the hydrometer test proved sugar was added.

I don't have any additional insights to share, other than I wish there was some kind of mark the seal that validated when rums are 'pure' - seems like a lot of folks would like to see something like that.

Well a while after I posted this I noticed there is a disclaimer on the back label saying that there is nothing added - so unless he is out-and-out lying, no added sugar.
