Recently purchased a bottle of Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva. Let me tell you...very nice rum. A bit sweet but very little burn and lovely taste on the tongue. I give it a rating of 9. Now on the hunt for a bottle of Diplomatico 2002 Single Vintage!

The Diplomatico is one of the great rum brands. I hope you get to try their vintage rums (edit: I see you already have) and their Ambassador. Fabulous!

Diplomatico rums are very good in deed and the sweetness comes from added sugar. Most people think rum, being distilled from sugarcane, is a sweet spirit. On the contrary, rum is not sweet unless distilleries add sugar or some sweetener to it. The process of fermentation allows yeast to grow by feeding on the sugar or other starch/ glucose/ carbohydrate
