Hi, I am a newcomer and just uploaded my first ratings. While I am fully aware that I am not a specialist, I would nevertheless like to keep some coherence in my ratings. Is there an agreed rule in the forum for the comparisons between light and aged rum? Of course, I do not expect the same when buying an XO rum vs a light one mainly for mixing. My first idea was to treat those categories independently: an 8/10 for a light rum does not mean I like it as much as a 8/10 aged rum. How are you dealing with this question generally? Comments in french, spanish or portuguese are ok for me.

I rate them all as if they're in one category - "rum". :-) You're right, light rums will typically be rated lower that way, but you can always filter on the light rums to see which light rums are best against each other.
