I don't have any answers for you, but I share your pain in trying to find rum in Asia.

I found Tafia recommended on TimeOut. Will check it out and provide feedback. In China, the Speakeasy format is starting to step up their game. In Shenzhen, both Providence and A01. In Hong Kong, 208 Duecento Otto has the Plantation range.

Go to Tafia. You'll have a hard time finding it though. The outside looks like someone's home. Also be prepared to drink mostly Rhum Agricole. The owner is really into Agricoles.

Never tried Agricole. Where is Tafia? I did an internet search, but came up with nothing.

Sorry for the late reply. If you google 'tafia rum bar Tokyo' you'll get plenty of hits The full adress is 2-chome 14-15, Nishi Azabu, Minato-Ku, Tokyo. Not sure what the closest subway stop is. I walked there once from Roppongi. About 15-20 minutes.
