I haven't heard of this test but I wonder if anyone else has. Since most rum is molasses based and it seems like molasses is a sticky substance, I'd guess that would mean even 'virgin' rum with no added sugar is still sticky?
Why would I waste good rum by pouring it on my hands? ;)
This concept is ridiculous. Get a refractometer.
