Hi @ all, I'm not a rum expert, but really like to drink some ;-). Now I would also like to edjucate myself about rum. Which is the best book, that tells me everything I need to know about rum? Best, Dan

Dan...check out Rob's thread entitled "Books about rum" (somewhere on the next page of posts) for some suggestions. Cheers.

I was thinking at one point of dedicating a page on RR to rum books where members could comment on their favorites and maybe even rate the books. Of any interest to you?

Dan, - "And a Bottle of Rum: A History of the New World in Ten Cocktails" by Wayne Curtis (2006) - a fantastic, dynamic, and often humorous introduction to rum with a historical perspective; "history through a rum bottle" - "Smuggler's Cove: Exotic Cocktails, Rum, and the Cult of Tiki" by Martin & Rebecca Cate (2016) - a large, comprehensive book on rum, cocktails, and tiki culture - "Beachbum Berry Remixed: A Gallery of Tiki Drinks" (an updated combo of the famous "Grog Log" and "Intoxica!") by Jeff Berry (2009) - the definitive guide to exotic cocktails from historian and bartender Jeff Berry - "Punch: The Delights (and Dangers) of the Flowing Bowl" by David Wondrich (2010) - everything you ever wanted to know about rum's first big mixological break, and the ancestors of modern citrus cocktails. Wondrich is a masterful writer.
