Den här rommen faller ganska platt.
Luktar och smakar lite vanilj och nöt men det finns inget djup i den. Smakar för mycket sprit i eftersmaken. Ett par droppar vatten eller lite is hjälper. Flaskan är dock trevlig
On the nose you find a bit caramel and alcohol. The characther is a little unrefined. The palette offers sweetish notes of caramel, barrel and some alcohol. The rum feels a little "young" but is decent for mixing.
Regular good quality rum from Dominicana, no big surprises.
Not the best rum I've tasted and it makes me miss Havana Club 7 años which is better in comparison. However, it's a rum I've enjoyed drinking as an avec in more casual situations.
Rhum asez simple sur alcool, vanille et les épices. Assez leger et simple, se boit bien. Bon RQP
The taste is too short and almost nothing to enjoy due to the burning of alcohol.
Good price for a rum with a pleasant smell and taste. Rather mild, slightly sweet. You can drink without additives.
Стандартный ром. Ни хороший ни плохой, с колой пойдет
Simple, but good rum. Great for mixing, not for sipping. I actually think this one edges out the Brugal XV and anejo rums as far as inexpensive Dominican rums go, but just barely.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The kid brother to the Imperial

Doing a side by side taste test against the Ron Barcelo Imperial, one can taste how they both have the same starting base. However, this kid brother is a bit harsh with no notable flavors. This turns it into a $17 bottle of cheap sipping rum that is hard to find. Even if it were readily available, I would not buy it again. I don't regret buying it because at least I can see that this distiller is honest. It won't go to waste and there is nothing repulsive about it.
Update Feb 21, 2018: There is absolutely no ill effect whatsoever after drinking too much of this rum, probably due to it having no added sugar. It's not really so bad at all being a human guinea pig, since the after effects are what really shows up on how good a rum really is.
This now brings me to four distillers that I have tried from the Dominican Republic that I can wholeheartedly trust for both taste and having no after effects: Vizcaya, Opthimus, Barcelo, and Matusalem. I am on the fence when it comes to Kirk & Sweeney and will never touch another bottle of Brugal (their Anejo is the only rum that I tried that earned my rating of 1). This rum would have gained a point if it were not for it's rather bland taste.
