When the Brinley Gold line of flavored rums was discontinued in favor of the Brinley Gold Shipwreck flavored rums, the lime version wound up being a loss. It has now been resurrected again here.

If you like the flavor of lime, but want to reduce the tartness, this could be used in lieu of lime juice in mixed drinks. However, it does appear to have added sugar that brings the ABV to 36%. It can also be sipped neat or on the rocks. I am glad that I stumbled across the bottle that I bought. I like it better than their Mango, but not as good as their Vanilla.

Most of us know the classic formula for the original daiquiri from Cuba: one of sour, two of sweet, three of strong, four of weak. The first part is lime juice. The second part is simple syrup. The third part is premium Cuban style white rum. The fourth part is ice. Hmmm! This rum basically comprises the first two parts, so substituting it is worth a try. Blending equal parts of this rum and Cana Brava 3 year old over lots of ice made for one very quickly made daiquiri. Did it work? Well, not exactly. There are no short cuts to an original classic of anything! The lack of tartness in this drink is what made it less than acceptable when compared to the original. Adding a few dashes of real lime juice could improve upon this lazy daiquiri. However, it does make for one very unique Cuba Libre, just add cola and ice. Other than a very unique Cuba Libre, it is only good for mixing with coconut water ("put the lime in the coconut" from that famous song).
