Nose is is smoky with esters and burnt sugar
Mouth with Tabacco and more smoky feeling, bit of cocoa
Short ending
Overall nice/ok
Navy style, close to an aged pussers. However, aged pussers is way better.
Nice taste and not so strong, even with 46.2⁰, a little sweetness on first taste
The best parts of guyana, jamaica, and barbados are not here, but we do have them. One can discern the different styles blended in.
Flavors of molasses, licorice, pepper, brown sugar with a buttery mouth feel.
It's not bad. I recommend it neat, with a little lime or in a Pain Killer cocktail.
A light golden colour, cinnamon and orange smell with a hint of tobacco. Good flavour with the fire on the the throat. Left it on the shelf for a while, poured the last glass and the tobacco is now the strong smell with the cinnamon in the background.
Black Tot rum is a "Navy style" blend of Caribbean rum from Guyana, Barbados and Jamaica by Elixir Distillers. It's presented at a respectable 46.2% ABV.
On the nose we have ginger, honey, line zest, grapefruit, oak, vanilla, light strawberry and cherry.
The palate brings some vanilla, and the light strawberry comes through with some oilyness.
The finish is medium in length and has pepper, clove, walnut, oak, mint and is slightly drying.
Nice notes of chocolate and coffee.
"Quite bitter with lots of treacly molasses and a real array of spices – lots of oak and ginger, with a touch of cinnamon and anise. Finish wise it is a reasonable length."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
