Barbarcourt 3 star’s aroma is distinctive , it is exquisite to savor after dinner with its full body, french caribbean aroma and dark color flavor. Excellent price-quality rum

Tasted at Laka Lono on 5/11/21. Gold in color. Bright vanilla aroma. Starts with a mild honey sweetness. Quickly shifts to a peppery palate. Quick finish. Almond nuttiness. Honey smoothness. Surprisingly good. Would be very functional in a Barbancourt Swizzle.

The nose was undetectable. The flavor was sweet and mostly alcohol. There were notes of artificial banana and coconut. The coconut is more apparent during the long finish, but you have to be searching for an aftertaste.

Assuming this is the same cane as in their White rum I ask Mr. Barbancourt: why there's a need to keep it in oak prison for 4 years?
Blanc might be more harsh, this one is smother - no problems, but sugar cane taste is almost gone, masked by wood, loosing a personally.
Anyway, let it breath for 7min to save your nose. You will get strong, interesting vanilla\fruity oil on palate and good aftertaste, might be not that complex, but just Ok.

It's quite doable. A bit sweet, rough around the edges with some alcohol burn and tingle. Nice overall taste with hints of being an "agricole" rum (though not technically I suppose...). Light fruit and peppery. Short finish that does not linger in any bad way. Spend more for the 8 year / 5-Star though. Perfectly good as a mixer.

This was almost rhum agricole adjacent in terms of some grassy, vegetal notes, but it had too much alcohol flavor to be of much use. If you really want Barbancourt, splurge for a slightly longer aged bottle

Came recommended - not thrilled. Very strong alcohol taste. Not super smooth.

Not as good as it's older brother, which I didn't find to be particularly great either.

When it first hits the tastebuds, it tastes kind of like burnt rubber. It’s not particularly smooth, but oddly enough, the aftertaste is fairly mellow and pleasant. Probably not one I would buy again, but it does fine as a mixer.

This is basically a silver rum. It tastes very young and unrefined. There is a slight grassiness to it, like a rhum, but it's mostly a boozy vodka-like rum. Some oakiness rounds out the very light flavored, very boozy, very young rhum. Better for mixing than neat.
