Tasty, but not quite great
Picked this up in Jamaica at the airport - was buying an Appleton 18 and just got this based on the elegant bottle. Delicious. So flavourful. For the price one of the finest runs I’ve tasted
First thing first!! Striking and Elegant Bottle. Cosmetics out of the way, I was pleasantly shocked that such a well designed marketing package could hold such a flavorful yet smooth concoction of tastes and aromas. Hints of coconut, vanilla, caramel, and bananas accentuated by a natural smoked and filtered wood spice hit every delicate taste palette with satisfaction.
Shockingly! Its beauty is more than skin deep!
This rates slightly above my average gold rum rating. A bit on the dry side.
Smells and tastes of spice, sugar cane, oak, and bourbon. Not bad, but not worth the money imho (~$40).
Smatt's Gold bottle looks very cheap and low end. Color is light amber. Strong alcohol and wood flavors to the nose. Nasty burn and more wood at the end. Struggles to even earn a 3.
Denne rum sidder man med i glasset og ønsker sig at den var mere end den er. specielt når man kigger på flasken.
Den er røget, men mangler i den grad sødme.
Æv at det var den man satsede på da man var på Jamaica...
