Barbancourt Reserve du Domaine 15-Year

This rum came highly recommended from many sources. It just didn't do it for me. As they say "different strokes for different folks"

I used to love it many years ago, and not being able to find it for many years, had forgotten the taste. I was just now able to get a bottle. My taste must have mellowed over the years because now I find it a bit too dry, too French, too cognac-like (I prefer Spanish brandies over French cognacs). Which does not mean that I do not recognize the quality. And I will still sip it with pleasure, when in not the mood for sweeter libations!

Bottle: upper average, but the stopper does not match the bottle design.
Nose: light alcohol odor, raw
Body: warming, raising, upright rum taste
Tail: great one - long lasting, slowly exploding in my mouth

Stronger one, not so sweet rum. Interesting product of Haiti.

A nice rum but not to par with the better top of the line Caribbean rum

I tried it once and like it but could not really appreciate all it has to offer.
Will definitely need to try again

For a premium ruhm, I was surprised the initial impression wasn't smoother. Loved the aroma! Also thought it was good after cutting it with bottled Coca-Cola.

Not much nose. Little bit of burn, more than I expected from a 43% aged rum. Afterwards a very pleasant wood and leather taste. More dry than most sipping rums. Would be good to offer to a whisky or cognac drinker who thinks that rum has to be too sweet.

Méthode agricole, sec, fortement boisé, des notes de fruits mûres mais aussi fort sur l'alcool, j'espérais plus de finesse donc un peu déçu.

I would only drink it on ice.....several cubes..to cut into the initial strong alcohol flavor. The aroma of wood definitely comes through. A nice sipping rum....with ice. I'm giving it an 8 and would give it an 8 1/2 if allowed. It's not a 9.
