This one is one of the best popular rums out there. With price around 40 EUR in Slovakia, it's one level above all of your Diplomatico's and El Dorado's, but still affordable. What's more important, it also offers great value for the money. This rum is still on the sweet side, but the sweetness is distinctively fruity. That's a big difference in comparison with Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva or El Dorado 12. This fruitiness also brings some dry element. It's not woody-dry or earthy-dry, but it's definitely not an oily rum. With all that being said, it stills offers a good portion of smoothness. Overall, it's a very good rum that can be enjoyed also by non-experienced drinkers.

C'est la plus belle bouteille de ma collection. Le contenu néanmoins n'est pas le meilleur. C'est toutout de même pas mal je le classe dans les moyens bon avec un bon 8.

Very mainstream rum. Not a lot making it stand out from the rest. Too much burn and not very complex. A bit of a letdown.

The good reviews everywhere mislead me with 1796. Sweet and spiced IMO.

My first foray into high-end rum was a pleasant surprise. I'm primarily a wine and Scotch drinker and found this bottle to be a similar experience to drinking single malt. It was sweet, spicy with hints of Christmas in the nose.

Venezuela se caracteriza por una tierra de buenos Rones. Este junto con Diplomático Reserva exclusiva es de los más representativos.

Raisins, oak, spice and depth of age all describe this drink. No one flavor dominates so each time you can find something new. Beautiful dark amber color is another joy.

pale in the glass, almost whiskey like. Smell is dim, minor, it is hard to grasp on it. smells sweet, like a sweet flower, but not in a good way, but merely fainted and old. The taste is full of alcohol, burns all the way, I wish it would be more round, but it is not. It's harsh, and whatever is left after tasting is a scent of alcohol, no flavour, but a sweet taste. I will give it another star, upgrading it to 5 stars, for the strong character based on alcohol.

I've fundet Thisted rum cheap in a bordershop. Som just another bottle for the collection.
