Venezuela | Aged | 40% ABV

Santa Teresa 1796 rum is produced in Venezuela and aged using the solera system that blends rums aged between 4 and 35 years. Before bottling, the rum is aged for a further year in large French oak casks to marry the blends.

This rum was first created in 1996 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the distillery, the Santa Teresa Hacienda.

Santa Teresa is right up my alley. This is a deep and satisfying sipping rum. Aromas of cedar and oak and quite a bit of medicinal notes up front. On the dry side which is good for me yet it still speaks rum with candied orange and molasas cookies. The second pour brings brownies and vanilla. But its not even close to being a sugar bomb.
At the $40 mark it's a simple presentation and thats another plus for me. A fancy bottle is fun to look at but it's whats inside that counts and I will happily count out 40 bucks for this nectar. Eye candy not needed.

En smule sprittet. vanilje og karamel duft forekommer med et strejf af noget friskt.
Smager frisk og sød. En smule røget med en eftersmag af brændt og fad

This rum is not to drink too often. It is for special momemts after a good dinner. Not always easy to drink but when you do you remember those moments

Great solera style rum! Complex aromas of pear, banana, toffee, vanilla, caramello. At mouth very smooth!

Rhum avec une attaque assez forte et des arômes de caramel. Belle robe mais décevant sur la longueur.

First review on here - not a connoisseur by any means. I was recommended this by a knowledgeable rum fanatic. It is the first rum I could actually sip. But overall, for $80cad, I have found others now that I enjoy much more.
