Venezuela | Aged | 40% ABV

Santa Teresa 1796 rum is produced in Venezuela and aged using the solera system that blends rums aged between 4 and 35 years. Before bottling, the rum is aged for a further year in large French oak casks to marry the blends.

ST 1976 is similar to Mount Gay Extra Old, but with a little more depth of flavor. With little/no added sugar, this is a solid, dependable, dry sipping rum that's WAY better than its neighbors Diplomatico and Pampero.

Recommended neat, or in a Rum Old Fashioned.

I hope to revisit this review after further tasting.

This may be my favorite rum to drink neat. The perfect blend and very smooth!

Slight aroma with a touch of sweetness on the front end. Tastes of honey and caramel on the sweet side but not too sweet. Very mellow and smooth from start to finish with not an overly punch of flavor.

Everything about this bottle screams top shelf. It looks gorgeous, the cork even feels expensive. I've wanted to try this bottle for a long time, but found it underwhelming at first. Initially it was just boring. Smooth, rich, and balanced with lots of vanilla and a little spice, but boring. After sitting a bit it has really opened up and become more layered and spicy, with a long finish. Still on the sweet side. A great special occasion or dessert rum.

It's been a while since i tried something new, but got a sample of this.
Smell is pretty subtle, but reminiscent of demerera in its dark sugar, slightly dirty vibe. Taste is pretty much the same. Not particularly sweet, which surprised me somewhat. Goes down pretty smoothly, which suggests there's a fair proportion of aged rum in there.
Nothing in the way of complexity though. It's very drinkable and easy sipping butpretty bland for something of this price point. Overall, it has a bit of the Diplomatico about it, but mostly its like a boring El Dorado.
Not bad. Can't give it less than a 6, but can't give it more either.

Vanishingly light, it does have some oak notes that become more apparent with rest. While I do think its one of the better Spanish rums, I still feel it hard to enjoy something so light. It was worth trying but I have the impression the bottle will be slow to empty.

Velmi dobry suchy solera rum, so zaujimavym chutovym profilom - vanilka, karamel, jablko, mierne dlhym, horkejsim a jemne alkoholovym dozvukom. Vyborny pomer cena/kvalita. Moja oblubena volba.

Krajina pôvodu: Venezuela
Obsah alkoholu : 40%
Cukor: 5g/l
Doba zrenia: zmes rumov starych 5 az 35 rokov

A Venezuelan rum that isn’t full of sugar.
IMO,one of the best solvers rum but a bit pricey(~50€).Smooth and tasty, opening with vanilla, coffee and brown sugar and dry finishing with a touch of pepper.

An incredible sipping rum. A bit sweet with a cola, but is smoothness cannot be denied.
