The smell is very good to smell caramel and cinnamon, the taste is delicate, slightly spicy. Fine choice.

First of all, I like that the rum is not sweet; even though it might contain around 4 gram sugar per liter, according to the nutrition sheet from the producer: https://www.bacardilimited.com/nutrition/santa-teresa/

Depending on what I drank or ate before, the rum tasted bland or complex - fruity, raisiny, notes of coffee and more.
That's why I'd recommend it to most rum sippers, as a rewarding experience.

The bottle is very nicely sealed with wax.

Nose: lovely, dark, old oak. Best tasted in a Snifter glass.

Palate: spicy, woody and dry. Well balanced, full body and aroma, warm and long lasting aftertaste.

Color: gold Aroma: Fruity aromas with subtle wood tones. Taste: harmonious, fine and elegant aromas of dried fruit, toasted almonds, a slight hint of vanilla, precious woods and a fine toffee flavor. Finish: dry, long with a pretty sweet development.

Lots of caramel, toffee, and butterscotch up front followed by a sole vanilla and then a faint oak and honey aftertaste. I love the flavors and complexity but it is a touch on the sweeter side. Definitely not over sweet but just enough to notice. All in all this is a great rum that is very interesting but I find it to be a little pricey for what it is given the $44 US price tag. Definitely with a try though if you’re into something a little unique.

Sweet spicy vanilla with a hint of a woody note. There is a bit more woody note on the finish, BUT it’s not too bad.

At under $50 this is an excellent value in Spanish solera style rums. My three favorite rums of this style in this price range are Zafra 21, Pasador de Oro Gran Reserva, and this one. There's a lot of flavor, its very smooth, and its fairly easy to find it on your local shelves.

What can I say about Santa Teresa? Being in South Florida we have a large Venezuelan population, so I was lucky enough to get exposed to it early on…..has a slightly dryer and smooth taste, mixes beautifully with some lime and Demerara for a very polished cocktail….I’m sure it’s just as good neat if that’s your thing. It sells out frequently in local stores and it’s easy to see why….one of the very best.

A great sipping rum. Not too spicy or sweet. Great for a casual evening with friends
