The rum is produced by Sailor Jerry Ltd., a company founded to honor the sailor-turned-tattoo artist, Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins.

Its a rum to drink with coke not for sipping or on the rocks

So in all honesty I prefer Kraken Black Rum with my cola or just straight up but the sad thing about Kraken is not every place stocks it. However most places stock Captain Morgan or Sailor Jerry's. Well I have never really liked the Captain but I do like Sailor Jerry's and it's a decent rum in a bind. I have never had this stuff straight (since I normally don't drink rum straight) but I have had it with cola. It does pair okay with cola but it has a tendency to over power the cola at times which I don't like. When mixed with cola the spiciness and sweetness of Sailor Jerry's really just overtakes the cola flavor and all I really end up tasting is Sailor Jerry's. A good rum and cola should compliment each other rather than having one overpower the other. I can live with Sailor Jerry's if nothing else is on hand but to me when mixed with cola, all I really taste is Sailor Jerry's.
I found it at a store in Augusta, GA. The owner told me it was a good seller and I should try it. I have and I like the smooth taste and the easy way it mixes with all types of mixers. I thought the 92 proof would come with a bite............not so. I would suggest if you have not tried this rum you need to give it a try.

Not a bad one to do straight or with a mixer. Usully have on a night out to stay safe.

A very good rum for rum and coke. The most notable flavor whilst it is in coke is caramel. It has a very smooth and subtle caramel taste on the end of the palate. With the caramel flavor in mind, you can really appreciate the butterscotch hints and sometimes vanilla seeps into your mouth. Overall pretty good for the price.

It is not a bad rum and the price is just a bit high for what you get. I though I would be getting more but was not there.

Smells very nice but I detect aditifs. Decent price an a real taste.
I'm not sorry that I tried .

Pierwszy degustowany na blogu rum spiced. Nie wiem za bardzo czego mam się spodziewać więc skuszony spotkaniem z kolegami po pracy którzy zjechali się z całej PL postanowiliśmy zaryzykować, szczególnie iż w ekipie znalazł się jeden miłośnik rumów którego również zainteresował degustowany dziś produkt.
ZAPACH: Kakao, toffi, cynamon, kawa a na koniec wanilia oraz melasa. Alkohol delikatnie gryzie w nozdrza mimo zamaskowania całości przyprawami. Czuć że jest to rum, przyprawy nie dominują tylko ładnie podkręcają oraz "ugrzeczniają" zapach.
SMAK: Tu już jest mniej gładko w porównaniu do zapachu. Wyraźny alkohol, melasa, lekka czekolada, wanilia oraz palony karmel. Przyprawy gdzieś giną ale całość jest dość gładka w piciu. Dodanie lodu wzmaga kremowość, przyprawy uwypuklają się wraz z ukrytą wcześniej pieprznością.
Jak można to wszystko podsumować? Zapach jest miły oraz nie przesadzony - spodziewałem się silnych aromatów piernikowych lub sztucznych przypraw. Smak bez niczego też jest w porządku ale osobiście nie pasują mi przyprawy które w swoim założeniu maskują niedoskonałości samego trunku oraz go uatrakcyjniają, sprawiają wrażenie iż jest on bardziej dojrzały niż w rzeczywistości. Jednak już w drinku dodatkowe aromaty powodują iż smak robi się trochę nie do przewidzenia i możemy zostać zaskoczeni często innym efektem smakowym niż zazwyczaj.
Polecam mimo wszystko SAILOR JERRY SPICED - ładna butelka, dębowy korek, ciekawa etykieta, kontretykieta z informacjami oraz bonus po opróżnieniu butelki po wewnętrznej stronie. Wypowiem się tak jak w przypadku rumu HAVANA CLUB ANEJO ESPIECIAL - do kwoty 60pln za butelkę o pojemności 70cl - warto. Powyżej konkurencja potrafi lepiej. Mam na myśli oczywiście ceny marketowe - w internecie trunki często potrafią kosztować kilkanaście do kilkudziesięciu procent drożej. Jak szukacie tego rumu to znajdziecie go jeszcze w dużym TESCO za cenę 69,99pln
P.S. Zastanawia mnie dlaczego mocniejsza wersja tego rumu (92 proof) jest zamykana metalowa nakrętka, a testowana dziś (80 proof), ma fajny dębowy korek. Być może chodzi o przeznaczenie - wersja z wyższą zawartością alkoholu dedykowana jest do miksowania.
