Great sipping rum - usually in a short glass on the rocks. Smooth with hints of vanilla beware this is 92 proof
Its a pretty good mixing but the only problem it's not the best. Everybody should try it atleast once but other rum in his gategory are better.
Sailor Jerry's is a very strong yet smooth rum. I think it was made to kill germs or something.
You really need Coke with this Rum. This Rum is over Rated.
One of my favorite rums to mix with a couple ice cubes and ginger ale.
Tried this for the first time this year, better than Captain Morgan Spiced and on a par with Kraken. They're all at the same level so it's just a matter of personal preference. All flavours will be doused with coke or whatever you prefer so no need to get the snifters out here.
If you compare this to other more sophisticated rum you'll find that it won't meet your needs. If you are looking for a everyday rum that mixes well then this is your choice.
Wow this stuff slides down easy, great with ginger & lime.
Love his tattoos love his rum! It's got a bit of a burn going down straight but it's great in a rum and coke.

The rum smells very sweet.
"It is initially very sweet on the tip of the tongue but it soon becomes very bitter."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Honestly I wasn't expecting much from this rum. After all it's usually shelved along with the cheapest rums the store has to offer. And in this area you find it in every liquor store without exception.
It has a nice amber color and a subtle aroma. A good flavor with a balance of spices and flavors. Fairly complex. I admit my uneducated palate cannot specify them all but I do get some vanilla and cinnamon along with....cherry? Okay...I had to sip and re-sip but I distinctly detect some cherry in this spiced rum. Pretty good. Frankly, I suggest dumping any and all Capt. Morgan spiced rum you may have and replace it with Sailor Jerry Spice Rum. Interestingly even though it's 92 proof it doesn't have a biting burn. A nice slow, albeit strong, warmth coating the throat.
I admit there are indeed better spiced rum available but for the price this is a very good rum to have onhand. If you are at a bar and given the choice between Capt. Morgan spiced rum and Sailor Jerry, take Sailor Jerry. You will not be disappointed. Works extremely well in Coke Zero.
