Sailor Jerry’s Spiced rum is crafted from a blend of Caribbean rums that are blended and infused with spices and other flavors including vanilla and cinnamon.
The rum is produced by Sailor Jerry Ltd., a company founded to honor the sailor-turned-tattoo artist, Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins.
Wouldn't put this one down as one of the greats but it is a pleasant rum. Probably better consumed neat with ice as it does not hold its flavour when chased.
Nice rum but there are other similar types out there. Dont think I will go out of my way to buy this one again.
Delicious vanilla taste. Wouldn't recommend sipping on its own, but makes a rum and coke super tasty.
This is really good with a splash of coke and a lime
Ok as a mixer, and its widely available in supermarkets but there are much better rums available for the same price. Slightly better than Captain Morgans.
7.5 nearing 8 land but I will give 8 for its price
I really like sailor jerry's. I actually call it sailor cherry's because of its strong cherry taste, but I really like it for this feature. Rums mostly go for the caramel vanilla flavor and that's cool but I really do like the cherry trend breaker. Smelling it from the bottle smells almost like nothing, maybe a wiff of sugar cane but that's about it really. Keeps its neutral smell in the glass too but then that cherry smells perks up at the very end with a tinge of alcohol. Straight is very harsh at the end, entry is good but then as it exits it gives you the kick in the mouth. Strong taste of cherry and some vanilla. I used to have coughing problems in the winter because of the dryness and took a lot of NyQuil which make me really learn to like that flavor. This gives me that reminder in a rum form so I really like this one. Excellent in coke the strong cherry taste and vanilla taste live on. BE VERY CAREFUL this rum has an incredible ability to sneak up on you, its VERY common to have 1,2,3 and be like "wow I'm totally sober...." and then the hammer of god (sailor jerrys) comes down all of a sudden like a concrete truck and hits you. A must for any serious bar.
this is the rum i drink regularly. Smooth enough to drink straight up, but excellent with Dr Pepper or Root Beer.
Good on rocks, good mixing, great for cooking. The perfect utility rum.
Smells good and taste great, easy party drink along with easy going shots. I personally like to mix it with cherry coke occasionally
It's cheap and with orange and coke, even my mother likes it. For spiced rum this has hardly any competition.
And unless other rums, this has an aura build around it. With Sailor Jerry you sail in waters of rockabilly, tattoo and genuine people. And I like this acompany.
spiced rum without the heavy vanilla taste you get with Captain Morgan. I give it a thumbs up when mixed with Coke.
Strong alcohol small with a bit of a burn. Vanilla spice flavor. Not my cup of tea, but probably good mixed with Coke or Pepsi.
If you like mixed rum drinks and have no money then here you go. But if you really like good rum, leaves this one alone.
I like this rum, but just for mixing.
For me it makes a very nice mix with cola.
It has a lot of vanilla but that is something I enjoy in my rum cola mix ;-)
It's nice for every day rum. You won't have hangover :)
Sugar: 45 gpl. Picked up a bottle on a whim and was surprised how good this was. Nice caramel and nutmeg smell, soft on the palate and quite smooth overall. Excellent flavour and not a lot of burn or harsh aftertaste as I have found with other spiced rums. If in doubt, buy this one.
This is my go-to rum, or we call it the house rum at my house. Spice blend is wonderful caramel and vanilla. It is sweet, but not to sweet.
Coke a Cola, about a quarter of a lime juiced, and Sailor Jerry, good way to end a busy work day.
First shot was tasty, third, fourth... become not so pleasant for me. Spicey, sweet, not bad but not great.
Denne kan ikke anbefales, det er noget billigt sprøjt. Kan godt være den bliver bedre ved at blive blandet i en drink. Men drikkes rent, nej tak !!
You can definetly taste burnt caramel flavour in this one. It reminds me alot of a lighter version of Kraken spiced Rum.
Love the label on this one. Great packaging.
Alkohol: 40 %
Původ: Americké Panenské ostrovy
Aroma: Ve vůni kořenitější tuzemák, vanilka, hřebíček a med. (78 b)
Chuť: Kůže, med, vanilka. Trochu vylepšený tuzemák, ale není to úplně můj styl. (82 b)
This was the first spiced rum I ever tried, and while I enjoyed it, the first time I tried it straight up — it's got a definite burn, but it's not medicine-y — it made me appreciate the existence of the Cuba Libre. However, I love the stories behind Sailor Jerry. It also made me feel this was more of a hipster rum, and not a serious one.
Sailor Jerry is the best spiced rum to buy for mixing. It's good enough that you could drink it over ice, but mostly it reaches a high enough bar at a low enough price point you don't have to feel bad about mixing it.
Smell and aromes are great (burned caramel, butterscotch, cinnamon) but a 80 proof it is, which is kind of a showstopper for the tasting buds. A bit dissapointed I feel :(
Sailor Jerry the great tattoo artist and now rum is a good mixing choice. I see a lot of pics here saying 80 proof, but I have always saw and bought the 92 proof version. Strong spices with heavy Vanilla taste. Mixes a sweet rum & cola. But the 92 proof packs a punch within a few drinks..
