That’s not a compliment by any means....still heavy vanilla to mask the poor quality of the rum.

Much better choices out there for your mixing needs!

If you want a cheap rum..this is it. Not a sipping rum. When I was younger I bet this would have been an 8

Thought this was a bargain at the time. You have to mix it - it's not for sipping. Watch out for an awful hangover. I'm biased now against spiced rums.

Vanilla cupcakes! With frosting. That's all I get on the nose, along with a good kick of alcohol. Maybe the cupcakes were made in a kitchen that also bakes spiced goods? It's incredibly one-note.

On the tongue, the rum delivers the vanilla promised on the nose, with a bit of spice, but not much. It's rather sweet, and even a tad medicinal (not in a good way).

I'll be honest—spiced rums are not my forte. But even for what I tend to use them for—dessert topping, coffee correcting, baking, the odd mixed drink—the Sailor is still a bit of a last resort. Spiced rum is so easy to make, and more and more (good) spiced rums are hitting the market these days. It's disappointing to see a great artist's legacy tarnished this way (even if he liked the stuff).

A loads of vanilla and caramel in the aroma and in the taste. With the ice the taste becomes quite smooth.

Used as drink mix with coke when you want to go out to party

It's higher proof than Captain Morgan but it has a slight medicinal flavor due to the hint of cherry added to it. If you are mixing it or using it as a float, it works well enough.

Guys, seriously...some of you gave this a 10? I think a 6 would be generous. There are plenty of better mixers out there. It's better that Captain Morgan but still I would not call it great.

thats what a person buying that rum would say ,,, its the training wheel of rums ,, drink it ,, get an idea of what a rum is ,,, then put the empty bottle down and move on to a real rum ,,, your training is over
